30th July (on with drive in Scotland)

Munro wore a red head wig with a scottish hat (I'm sure there's a name for it) just for the fun of it for sending us off. Played scottish music as we left.

Day started well, weather was sunny and warm. From Conon-Bridge, we took A835, A9 to Inverness. Our first stop was at Loch Ness where Nessie the sea monster was famed to have originate. Since hearing so much about the monster, I was interested to enter the museum. We paid expensive entrance tickets and felt that information about the existence of Nessie wasn't conclusive. In fact, it seemed to imply that no sea monster exists.

We then got to Drumnadrochit and then A82 to Fort William.

Ross's driving started to irritate me. His bad habit of multi-tasking while driving fast, listening to cricket, biting his nails and driving with one hand (on a manual car) simply irritated the hell out of me. I decided I should try to do the driving instead of being on the receiving end.

Started to rain near 6pm.

Stayed at Fort William, West End Hotel for the night. We got a room there, unloaded our luggage into the room and then got out to get on the A830 to go to Gelnfinnan, A830 to Mallaig and then A830 back to Fort William.

At Fort William, we went out hunting for ice-cream at night, found none, most of the petrol stations had also closed by then and got caught out without an umbrella.

Drove 180 miles for the day.
