Scandinavia- 12th Oct (Thu)

Left London early in the morning for our Stockholm flight at 11:30am. The BA lounge was pretty good and had lots of juices, fresh fruits and cereal.

It was a short flight to Stockholm and the time zone went an hour back.

We took the train from the airport to the Central Station. The train station at the airport was huge and cold, reminds me of a bit Soviet style with the massiveness. Upon reaching our destination at the Central Station, We changed some pounds into krona. Ross managed to navigate us to the hotel easily enough. We realised that the Sheraton Hotel was very near to the station. Within a minute of walking, we saw the Sheraton Hotel sign. Along the way, we also saw lots of Japanese Chinese restaurants.

We had excellent service at checking in. The lady who served us was fluent in English and very helpful. We were supposed to have a better room tonight (on SPG points) compared to the next two nights (which we paid for). We were glad to know that we would be getting a room with a good view and staying in the same room for the next few nights.

The view from the room was indeed excellent. We could see the water, bridge and beautiful buildings from our room. That was an excellent start. Soon after settling in, we set out to explore Stockholm a bit more. It was after 5pm by now.

Stockholm is simply beautiful and the coolness in the air is crisp. Honestly speaking, we had been worried about the cold but it wasn't as bad as we expected. There are lovely alleys and every corner we turn is beautiful.

We had pretty bad Italian food for dinner. The pasta we ordered was overcooked and soggy. We discovered Chokladkoppen which had fantastic hot chocolate and great chocolate cake with cream.
