Silk Road - 4th October (Wednesday)

We had an early flight to catch to London. We checked out at nearly 6:30am, reaching the airport at nearly 7am. The cab could not get alight us right at the departures airport and we had to walk quite a distance, 300m away. It also took some time to figure out where to go. It was a very long and tedious process, lots of queuing, checking of tickets and so on. After the hundredth time or so of checking our tickets, we finally boarded the BA plane.

It was going to be a long journey for us, 9 hours. The plane stopped in Tiblisi (Georgia) for refuel and to load some more passengers. The first leg was not overly crowded. We found out too late that the guy who issued us boarding tickets assigned Ross and me seats that was one behind another. We were quite upset cos we remembered that he asked whether to give us separate baggage tags and we told him that we were married.

Anyway it was quite a full plane at Tiblisi. It was a small plane. The overhead compartments were at least enclosed. It was also not an individual TV screen that we had. We finally got through the flight and reached Heathrow airport.

Ross left me and the luggage at Paddington station while he went to get the keys from Tor.

Reaching Tor's place, we checked out their kitchen that had been newly renovated. It was 80% done and looked splendid and more spacious. The floors were retiled, shelves built-in, new fridge, oven, grill and heater. It looked well done and classy. The tabletops were not done yet and there was also no sink yet. We got to know later that the electrical appliances like washing machine were only hooked up the day before.

We had dinner at Pizza Express and when we got back at around 9:30pm, Judith was back. She seemed tired and we found out that she had been working very hard on her project. Tor came back soon after and we had a good time catching up with the two of them.

Went to bed pretty late at around 1230am, which in Uzbek time it was already 430am.
